Our company currently has an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Asset Accountant at our Troy, Ohio location.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Perform tasks associated with the capital process including reviewing capital project requests and financial justification, identifying obsolescence and project expenses, and ensuring timely creation of assets.

2. Ensure fixed assets are properly recorded. Tasks include maintenance of the detailed information in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger, recording fixed asset acquisitions and disposals, calculating depreciation, and investigating the potential obsolescence review of assets.

3. Ensure fixed assets are properly safeguarded and all required controls are being executed. Tasks include maintenance of required documentation and approvals for fixed asset transactions, coordinate periodic counts of all fixed assets, confirm all assets are properly tagged, and reporting to management the results from the fixed asset inventory.

4. Work with Tax department to ensure proper tax status is assigned to all fixed asset activity.

5. Prepare quarterly lease projections and submissions, working with the Treasury department.

6. Support in preparing fixed asset audit schedules, and assist with all audit inquiries related to fixed assets.

7. Month end closing responsibilities including reconciling accounts, reporting and analyzing variances to budget and forecast, and generating closing entries and reports.


Qualifications include:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA or CMA a plus.

2. Minimum of 2 years' of asset accounting experience.

3. ERP experience is preferred (Oracle).

4. Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office suite.
