The department of Information Systems Support (ISS) is seeking to fill the position of Information Technology Specialist III/IV "Associate Applications Systems Analyst" for Auburn University's Ellucian Banner ERP and associated Finance, Payroll, and Human Resources systems and interfaces.

Under close supervision, assists with the formulation and definition of system scope and objectives based on client needs. Implements new or modified procedures to solve problems considering resource capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
1. Reviews, modifies, and writes program code for the implementation of business requirements utilizing current technologies and tools.
2. Coordinates with managers and directors in both technical and functional areas to analyze business procedures and develop IT solutions to introduce business efficiencies.
3. Implements the technical tasks for the application of and compliance with technical standards such as code reviews, unit testing, and security reviews.
4. Works closely with more senior Applications Systems Analysts to prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written in order to ensure compliance with business and technical requirements.
5. Implements the program design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, training, and support of application software.

May be responsible for training, assisting or assigning tasks to others. May provide input to performance reviews of other employees.

Minimum Qualifications
Entry into the applicant pool for Level III requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of experience in computer maintenance, troubleshooting, graphic and web site design, and programming. Employer may consider advanced relevant degrees in lieu of experience.

The Level IV requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience in computer maintenance, troubleshooting, graphic and web site design, and programming. Employer may consider advanced relevant degrees in lieu of experience.

When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year
relevant education per year of required experience.

Candidates should also possess:
1. An in-depth knowledge and understanding of discipline specific information technologies.
2. 1 year of working knowledge in Java Script, HTML, CSS, and development using databases.
3. Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain relationships within project teams and across the organization.
4. Excellent communication skills including the ability to articulate technical concepts effectively to non-technical customers.

Desired Qualifications
