Have you always wanted to work in the Automotive industry? Accountemps is currently hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper. In this role, you will carry out all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, and establishing and preserving accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. The long-term temporary-to-full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Mountain Brk, Alabama.

Major responsibilities:
  • Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows
  • Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules
  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed
  • Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing
  • Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
  • Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions
  • Carefully filing documents to preserve historical records

  • Prior payroll experience preferred
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Practical knowledge of Answering Multi-Line Phone System
  • Adeptness in Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Proficiency in General Ledger System
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cash Handling
  • General familiarity with Administrative Tasks
  • Answering Multi-Line Phone System experience highly preferred
  • Peachtree Sage experience highly desired
  • Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Foundational knowledge in general ledger
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
  • Earlier work involving Quickbooks and Peachtree
  • Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting
