Job Summary:


The G/L Manager is responsible for maintaining the General Ledger and preparation of financial reports for all facilities within Prisma Health. The G/L Manager assists in the interpretation and explanation of
financial reports for hospital and finance management staff.

Responsibilities:


Supervise the daily activity of the department.


Review of all journal entries and financial reports. Prepare and submit job requests for general ledger processing and reporting.


Coordination of general ledger and accounts payable schedule (closings and integrations) for the fiscal year. Prepare all preliminary financial reports for finance management and participate in the monthly bottom line meetings and GL financial reviews.


Coordinate, supervise, and review all quarterly and annual surveys. Coordinate annual physical inventory counts and determines locations to perform observation procedures.


Complete review of Charge Reserve worksheets. Coordinate and supervise the completion of annual SCHA financial reports. Prepare and assist with certain budget information during the budget process.


Coordinate with Financial Systems and Information Systems personnel on GL updates and processing or reporting problems.


Prepare supplemental financial package, which details the Board Report. Explain any material variations from the financial plan.


Perform General Ledger and reporting maintenance for new accounts, departments and hospitals when necessary as well as maintaining balances and allocation tables.


Evaluate existing accounting and reporting procedures within the department.


Supervise year-end audit schedule requirements within the department and coordinate those requirements with the external and internal auditors.


Requirements:


Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.


Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting or related field required.
