This position is for a lead Scheduling technician who works under minimal supervision. Leads lower level staff in collecting information necessary to prepare status reports and production reports. Evaluates production processes and accesses improvement needed. Leads in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of business support employees. May serve as a resource on varied tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:
Works under minimal supervision to provide assistance with managing manufacturing production scheduling.
Prepares plant’s detailed master production schedules in accordance with required volumes, plant capacity and material availability.
Leads lower level staff in collecting information necessary to prepare status reports and production reports.
Assists with reviewing documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities.
Evaluates production processes and accesses improvement needed.
Calculates figures, such as required amounts of labor or materials, manufacturing costs, or wages, using pricing schedules, adding machines, calculators or computers.
Collates and analyzes production data, estimates resource requirements, determines machine and operator loads and monitors production activities.
Plans and prepares manufacturing production schedules, assesses changes and improves processes as necessary.
Tracks status of material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, and materials are avaialble as needed.
Prepares reports on works in progress.
Coordinates material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials are timed to meet production requirements.
Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, and other groups.
Schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
Review and maintain master production schedule (MPS).

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates for this role should possess an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
Daily check Tool Control List (TCL) for needed updates of tool and details locations.
Respond to tooling requests for tool movement to / from storage areas.
Address in-work tool repair requests as quickly as possible.
Continuously be aware of tools’ condition and upgrade components (wheels, brakes, details) as necessary.
Monitor outside tools for surface protection status.
Understand Excel spreadsheet use for maintaining records of tool status.
Utilize MS Word for note taking and communications in general.
Interface with corporate Tool Accountability Group for tool shipment and inventories / assessments.
General conventional machining skills needed.
