Job Summary


The Product Manager – Gabby is responsible for developing brand and product strategy, product line reviews, and recommendations; conducting competitive analysis, pricing, promotions, marketing, and public relations for the Gabby product line; defining the overall product and revenue growth strategies for all trade class channels, including wholesale, contract, private label, and retail. The Product Manager – Gabby is also responsible for identifying the target market for the Company within each trade channel and creating aspirational brand awareness, revenue traction, and margin optimization to drive competitive advantages with a focus toward the brands’ three “Uniques” once solidified.


Essential Job Duties


  • Product and Market Strategy - Gain a deep understanding of the customer experience; identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share; improve customer experience and drive growth; determine customer needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information (surveys, focus groups, SWOT, and market studies), ensure that we continuously innovate and develop on trend products and services; recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product lines and appraising new product ideas; stay abreast of sources that can contribute to product ideation/ line recommendations including customer reviews, industry, shelter publications, industry analysis, and own experience and knowledge of market; provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term revenue forecasts [as needed by brand and product classification], prepare special reports and analyses; answer questions and requests related to the Gabby business; represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services; support product SKU communication needs for all trade class catalogs and both the current Gabby wholesale and new B2C E-Comm websites.

2. Brand, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations - Work with sales teams and channel managers to value how we should invest marketing dollars to generate brand awareness and to create tangible ROI; drive product launch ideation including working with creative services and public relations team, executives, and other product management team members; introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, creative services, and production staff; ensure strong digital, social media, and PR programs are being developed for the Gabby brand; act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding; analyze and support potential partner relationships for the product, i.e., StyleMakers; set and execute marketing and PR initiatives for the brand based on individual market/ trade class needs; ensure timely and proper development of marketing materials in coordination with Sales and Marketing Services, supporting all sales channel leaders and needs for wholesale/contract/private label customers, showrooms, trade shows, and retail stores.


3. Pricing & Distribution Strategies - Develop product pricing and positioning strategies; develop pricing recommendations through competitive pricing and product category analysis; support market driven product pricing by formulating price targets for design/mfg. COG, utilizing market research data, sales feedback, and general market knowledge; review cost and apply corporate pricing [tiered] formula; review price by SKU for perceived value margin opportunities; prepare market segmentation analysis and research of current pricing/program opportunities to generate hyper revenue, margin growth, and trade channel penetration; evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line and trade channel strategies and ensure that the message created is effectively conveyed.


4. Forecasting + SKU Management - Help to determine life cycle of a SKU; status from new to active to discontinued; facilitate forecasting and in-stock positions of new Sku’s with assistance from the Gabby Purchasing Manager.


Additional Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Stays current on marketing trends and changes.
  • Participates in marketing meetings.
  • Some travel required, including overnight, up to 25%.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Product Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent required; Master’s degree preferred;
  • Verifiable work experience in product management;
  • Proven track record in managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its life cycle;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop product and marketing strategies; and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done;
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
