Overview

Under the direction of the Board, this position will plan, execute, lead, and conduct audits of the Health System member organization; direct and oversee all Internal Audit activities (including clinical audit activities) across the system; coordinate with and review the work product of external auditors hired by member organizations; regularly report on Internal Audit activities to the Audit & Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors; provide services, assistance and guidance to member organization on Internal Audit issues; develop and execute a flexible, risk-based annual audit plan; and directly supervise and review the work product of all Internal Audit staff. In carrying out these activities, the Director of Internal Audit (Director) shall have full, free and unrestricted access to all functions, records, property, and personnel.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor Degree require. Graduate degree in Business, Accounting, Law, Nursing or allied healthcare profession strongly preferred. CPA or CIA preferred


Experience:

At least 10 years of healthcare management experience required. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, required. Knowledge and/or experience with healthcare-specific compliance topics such as 340B, Promoting Interoperability, and Stark Law strongly preferred.


Additional Skills/Abilities:

The Director must be strong in analytics, and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Director's work product will be distributed throughout the system at the highest levels of leadership. The Director will present audit results to the Board and Audit Committee, as well as to Members' officers and other key leaders, and will participate on key audit-, finance- and risk-related System teams and task forces. The Director also will interface with the external auditor and assist the external auditor in conducting the annual independent audit. The Director must be able to work independently with minimal oversight.

The Director must possess personal computer proficiency, a commitment to high quality customer service and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. The Director must have the highest degree of integrity and professionalism, and possess interpersonal skills necessary to develop and foster effective relationships with all levels of management at the various Members.
