CPA firm based in South Carolina is looking for a Staff Accountant to work in our Controller Services Department. This position requires some travel to client offices within the state of South Carolina.
Job Responsibilities
Staff Accountants are tasked with assisting the Senior Accountants and the Controller Services Management Team as they perform their job duties of a Finance Director for their dedicated clients. Each Staff Accountant must handle multiple requests from multiple staff simultaneously. You will work directly with the consulting team to assist in any needs requested by the client, which includes but is not limited to:
- preparing monthly financial statements
- maintaining the general ledger on a daily basis
- balance sheet reconciliations
- bank reconciliations
- preparing for the client’s audit
- preparing quarterly and year end payroll returns
- preparing and implementing policies
Additional job responsibilities will be assigned as necessary, including but not limited to assisting the Audit and Assurance Services Department with audit field work.
Qualifications Required
- Travel to client offices within the state of South Carolina
- Willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed
Qualifications Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
Skills Required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
- Experience with remote communications including video conferencing
- Exceptional computer skills and the ability to learn new software rapidly
- Comfortable with working remotely
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced complex team environment
- Ability to replicate theories from one client to the next
- Must be able to problem solve
