Duties/Responsibilities
- Fixed Assets Maintenance
- Work with Budget Analysis, Project Leads, and Team Manager to evaluate, analyze, and document capital project spending and organize for capitalization
- Process asset capitalization, transfers, and disposals in SAP’s fixed asset subsidiary system
- Enforce and document SOX control performance for Asset Transfer function
- Monthly Financial Reporting
- Work with the accounting team to analyze, document, and record applicable transactions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Perform and document general ledger account reconciliations to ensure account level control
- Prepare and document support documentation for financial reporting
- Project maintenance
- Work with budget analysis and fixed asset accountant (FAA) to maintain projects in SAP and Project Authorization Worksheet
- General Dept. Support
- Work with Team Manager, FAA, and SOX Lead to support data request driven by SOX and Financial Audits
- Support various repetitive and ad hoc accounting functions
- Work with FAA, Budget Analyst, and Dept. representatives to administer the annual Fixed Asset Physical Inventory and related audit
Daily Task Performed
- Review, track, and process daily transactions
- Communicate with internal and external accounting groups as well as deliver reports to management
- Determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance to GAAP & IFRS
- Prepare and review Monthly Journal Entries, analysis, and account reconciliations
- Support preparation of the Consolidation Reporting Package to the parent company
- Monitor reporting compliance
Minimum Job Relevant Knowledge
- Ability to support the preparation financial statements and note disclosures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Basic understanding of financial accounting and closing routines - Understanding of accounting subledgers
Minimum Job Relevant Experience-(Type & Length of Time)
- Associates Degree or 3 years of equivalent work experience
- Ability to apply accounting Theory, IFRS & US GAAP to accounting transactions
- Basic understanding of Cost Accounting and variance analysis
Education/Degree Certification Required
- Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting or Finance or Associates Degree with 3+ years of equivalent work experience
Required Skills
- Experience in SAP or similar Financial software
- Ability to apply accounting theory (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)) to accounting transactions
- Ability to adjust and work effectively in a dynamic, changing environment
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of cost accounting and variance analysis
- Ability to prepare financial statements and note disclosures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
