Analyst, Consumer Insights (IHOP)

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting, analyzing, and summarizing research, ultimately turning data and trends into actionable insights. As part of a high performing team, this candidate will represent the voice of the consumer in key business decisions. This role is highly collaborative, and one that requires adherence to timelines, attention to detail, and dedication to the success of the brand.


  • Support primary and secondary research in the areas of innovation, new product development and testing, communication, and advertising
  • Work with Product and Brand CI leads to execute qualitative and quantitative studies using research methodologies such as online surveys, focus groups, concept tests, advertising & copy tests, positioning groups, conjoint analysis, TURF, segmentation, etc.
  • Coordinate field logistics for in-market research
  • Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders in all functional areas of the company
  • Collaborate with all levels of marketing, culinary, and operations team members
  • Represent the voice of the consumer in business decisions through presentations, reporting, and meeting participation
  • Translate market research findings into concise and actionable insights
  • Analyze data and competitive trends to uncover stories/themes and present findings in a concise and digestible manner
  • Work with multiple research suppliers in the management of research project (from start to finish)
  • Obtain proposals from research suppliers (both primary and syndicated)
  • Act as a team player who contributes to the success of a high-performing insights team


  • Bachelor degree in social sciences, a quantitative or research field, or equivalent job experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in market research, marketing, or product management
  • Knowledge of foodservice or restaurant industry; CPG experience will also be considered
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint with strong charting and typing skills
  • High proficiency with Excel – must be well versed with pivot tables, conditional formatting, v-lookups and filters
  • Proficiency with statistics, research methodology, and data analysis (e.g., SPSS or cross tab)
  • High internal client service orientation and ability to collaborate with colleagues
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Must be able to very effectively time manage and juggle multiple projects and priorities
  • Must have attention to detail and be highly organized
