FP&A Verizon Consumer Markets Finance Team

That You will be the lead in providing key insights from an expense (Operational and Capital), P&L and overall financial impact on the business from critical initiatives and topics, such as; Zero Based Budgeting Subsidy, cost of acquisition/cost of retention, Consumer Products, Bring Your Own Device, Channel economics, Omni Channel cost of acquisition and retention, In-Store Pickup, Same Day Delivery, Marketing Return on Investment and others. You will consultative support to the Consumer Group and CMO Group FP&A teams during month-end close, and budgeting, planning and forecasting cycles. You will also be to look for opportunities for process improvement and Digital transformation on the team.
  • Own the development and communication of the plan and forecast, financial reporting, operational analysis and executive reviews for Actuals, Business Plan, Commitment View, and Best View.
  • Evaluate business results and serve as a functional expert to the business client to provide strategic guidance and insights during the analysis process.
  • Develop relevant P&L views for the business in key areas of strategic importance to Verizon.
  • Review changing market conditions, competitive actions and historical performance, identify opportunities, deliver insights.
  • Assess the impact of strategic initiatives that improve Business profitability and eventually shareholder value.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to complex business performance issues to define and execute action plans.
  • Interpret and evaluate monthly analyses of business trends, including budget variance of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to identify areas of risk and opportunities and provide recommendations.
  • Partner with the business to develop costing/profitability models and reports.
  • Assess the impact of strategic financial decisions and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Design, develop and implement methods and strategies to continually improve processes.
  • Assess customer/product profitability and drive profit optimization.
  • Develop and assess business cases for investment decisions, providing insights and support to the business.
  • Assess capital requirements and provide recommendations on capital allocation.
  • Present and communicate to all levels of the business.
What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
  • Master's or Bachelor's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Analytical capability with the ability to structure business cases around a high-level strategic vision.
  • Strong financial analysis and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong strategic skills, with the proven ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations.
  • Understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes.
  • Understanding of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis.
  • Experience leading large and complex team projects with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CFA, CMA)
  • Proficiency in Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
