Description

This position is responsible for timely and accurate inventory and revenue accounting as it relates to R.D. Offutt Company and various other RDO entities. In working with potato revenue this position maintains general ledgers, contract summaries, prepares comparisons, various analysis projects, and related supporting files/documentation.

Job Duties Include
Raw Product Potato Inventory/Revenue
  • Process potato settlements and potato inspections using the Crop Input Tracking (CIT) database
  • Ensure correct pricing and incentives (based on inspection data) with respect to potato processor contracts
  • Code all raw product payments from processors reconciling this to processor data and inspections
  • Invoice processors for storage, utilities, load out, gassing, and other misc. costs (if applicable)
  • Create and maintain raw potato sales reporting, including contract volumes, contract comparisons, bin reports, and shipping reports
  • Prepare and record potato revenue entries into eEnterprise general ledger
  • Reconcile potato ad tax and promo fee schedules as well as related forms quarterly
Reporting
  • Prepare bank borrowing base capacity reports on monthly basis
  • Provide monthly operational reports (budget to actuals) to Farm Managers
Accounts Receivable
  • Reconcile A/R accounts: Potato sales – Simplot, McCain, Northern Potato Co. and Barrel O’Fun. Lamb-Weston/RDO Frozen freight and general freight. Offutt and non-Offutt hauled freight revenue
Harvest
  • Maintain harvest load information for all Midwest farms into CIT
  • Prepare up-to-date yield/production reports
Other Duties
  • Participate in annual audit process
  • Evaluate effectiveness of processes and procedures and develop improvements as needed
  • Proactively seek and participate in available training to develop and advance knowledge and skills
  • Suggest CIT enhancements as needed
  • Follow all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals/employee handbook
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork
  • Represent yourself and company in a professional and positive manner
  • All other duties as assigned by Management

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, GL Software and Databases
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to manipulate large volumes of data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule depending on the season
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of Agriculture or Agricultural practices is beneficial
  • Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
