Job Summary: Performs high-level professional or technical accounting activities for specialized, complex and/or functional areas requiring the expert knowledge and professional application of accounting principles, practices and techniques in accordance with industry standards, current laws and university policy. Manages resources of assigned areas to accomplish goals and objectives and supervises lower level professional accountants and other staff.
Additional Department Summary: The Director serves the College by supervising the management of the regular financial accounts of the departments and programs, providing information and consultation to faculty, staff, and administration on fiscal matters, monitoring College expenditures according to University policies, and assisting with budget preparation. This position also serves as an administrator of the College by assisting with the development of College policies and programs, assisting with the review of faculty workloads and enrollments, serving on several College committees, and other administrative tasks as necessary. The Director administers the Affirmative Action Plan, serves as the Harassment Officer and ADA liaison for the College. In this regard, the Director serves as the College Human Resource Coordinator and liaison with the UA Human Resource and Title IX offices. This requires assisting with claims of harassment, employee concerns, disciplining and termination, and other Human Resource tasks as necessary.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and five (5) years progressively responsible professional accounting experience; OR a Master's degree in Accounting or Business and 4 years professional accounting experience; OR CPA and 4 years professional accounting experience.
