Job Summary: The Assoc Transportation Services Manager - Events is responsible forcoordinating transportation and parking services for both campus and athletics events to include but not limited to, staffing, parking allocation as well as parking/traffic management. This coordination requires high level contact with the Athletic Department, President’s office, various departments across campus and guests of campus events. This position also has Accounting responsibilities, including compiling the daily deposits for all permit sales, both at the front counter and online, including Gameday permit sales. This position works extended hours in the evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of event management/coordination experience which includes budgetary responsibilities. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier. Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of event planning and standard book-keeping/budget reconciliation. Demonstrated effective skills in the following areas: interpersonal, oral and written communication, organizational, detail-oriented, conflict management, judgment, and decision-making. Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to effectively oversee/manage employees and volunteers working events. Must be able to switch quickly and effectively from task to task. Proficient in the use of standard desktop software and the ability to learn department-specific systems/software. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in Sports Management or Sports Hospitality. Working knowledge of T2 Flex, Event software, Banner, and/or work order processing system.
