$20.02 to $23.22 hourly rate with the potential to earn up to $25.00 per hour based on annual step increases / Non-exempt position / 12-month work year

IN THIS ROLE:
You will assume responsibility for the processing of accounts payable and assisting with the processing of payroll. Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements and other authorized disbursements. Assist with processing payroll, including employee timesheets, and tracking leave accruals and usage. Research, analyze, reconcile and resolve discrepancies.
WHAT WE NEED:
We are seeking an energetic, organized and collaborative team member to work closely with assigned departments to carry out the processing of accounts payable, general accounting as assist with payroll.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Associate’s degree preferred
- One or more years of related experience.
- Michigan School Business Official (MSBO) Office Specialist Certification
- Public education, K12 school finance experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Accounts Payable
WHAT WE PROVIDE:
Hourly Rate: $20.02 to $23.22 hourly rate with the potential to earn up to $25.00 per hour based on annual step increases
The Accounting Technician assigned to Pontiac School District is a full time employee of Oakland Schools. Employees assigned to staff the Business Services Office at Pontiac School District are employees of Oakland Schools’ working pursuant to an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Pontiac School District and Oakland Schools. The IGA is a long term arrangement which cannot be terminated by Pontiac School District without 180 days’ notice.

The IGA is a long term arrangement which cannot be terminated by Pontiac School District without the approval of the State Treasurer. Pontiac School District is operating pursuant to a Consent Agreement with the State Treasurer. Pontiac School District is expected to have a fall enrollment this year of nearly 4,300 students.
