We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our corporate Accounting & Finance team in Charleston. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Manager, Revenue Accounting will manage our growing team of Revenue Accountants, providing leadership and accountability in the areas of revenue recognition, sales contract partnership, and internal processes and controls. We are seeking an experienced people manager who can be a strategic leader but who isn’t afraid to get into the transaction details when needed. Ideal candidates will have operational accounting experience including recent revenue accounting experience, ready to jump into our fast-paced growth culture and make an impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage review of all departmental account reconciliations relating to revenue, deferred revenue and Accounts Receivable
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, and Operations to provide technical revenue and accounting guidance in contract negotiations; determine appropriate accounting treatment of contracts
  • Analyze revenue results on a monthly basis and report to senior management
  • Establish and maintain organizational practices to ensure proper revenue recognition
  • Prepare or review appropriate disclosures for SEC reporting purposes
  • Ensure the integrity of key processes by understanding systems, flow of transactions, internal controls
  • Update and maintain applicable SOX process documentation
  • Work actively with external auditors to ensure that company revenue recognition interpretation and guidance are consistent and compliant with GAAP and all technical standards
  • Lead and direct work of Revenue Accountants

Required Skills & Experience:

  • BS in Accounting required, CPA preferred
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in accounting with some revenue recognition. Software industry experience preferred but not required
  • Experience managing a team
  • Full proficiency in Excel beyond basic use (pivots, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Experience in a large ERP, particularly Netsuite, is a plus
  • Flexibility and adaptability to lead a team in a growing, fast paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with good business judgment and customer focus
