UCFS is seeking Grants and Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team! This position will be responsible for providing analytical and project support for the financial activities of the grant department including budget preparation, progress tracking and related reporting.

  • Document/Record Program Information — Enter, record, store, and maintain information in written or electronic form to support budget development, tracking and reporting. Assure accuracy with source documents and general ledger.
  • Optimize the grant/program administration process for efficient development, monitoring and analyzing budget information for all assigned programs including:
  • Spreadsheet and report creation, data analysis and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Researching discrepancies and preparing journal entries for monthly adjustments.
  • Coordinating with Human Resources, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable.
  • Monitor and analyze budgets and regulations to develop expected year-end planned outcomes. Provide support to program staff as needed to ensure contract compliance and execution of financial program goals. Identify budget variances and propose budget revisions to Grant Manager for consideration and submission to agencies with appropriate documentation.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports adhering to internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Develop and regularly present progress reports to the program Coordinators, Supervisors, Directors and Sr. Vice Presidents as necessary in a clear and informative manner.
The Qualified candidate will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years directly related experience in grants, accounting/finance, Para-legal, or similar experience required
  • Ability to provide for strength based, client centered service delivery with a culturally diverse client base
